Independent Property Diagnostics takes an evidence-led approach. We inspect the accessible areas, record the condition found, take appropriate readings and consider the available evidence together before setting out what is established, what is indicated and what may require further investigation.

IPD does not sell damp-proofing treatments or remedial building work. The purpose of the inspection is to help you understand the problem before you commit to a solution.

When a drone inspection may help

Some moisture problems originate above or outside the area where the symptoms appear internally. Where roofing, chimneys, flashings, gutters or other difficult-to-access external areas may be relevant, a drone inspection can be added or combined with the investigation where it is safe, lawful and appropriate to do so.

Independent means independent

IPD's role is to investigate and report - not to sell the treatment afterwards.

That means a recommendation is not influenced by the opportunity to sell thousands of pounds of damp-proofing or building work. If the evidence indicates that a simple maintenance issue, ventilation improvement or further specialist investigation is the proportionate next step, that is what the report will say.

Hidden defects can remain undetected where they cannot reasonably be seen or tested. If specialist testing or regulated professional advice is required, this will be recommended.
